Our Product, Design and Engineering teams have been working hard on lots of amazing new features and improvements this month. Here’s a sneak peek of what we have in store before April is over:
Enhanced appointment history details
Updated dashboard view for unassigned appointments
Updates to our Lobby TV display and Lobby View settings
A few other platform enhancements including updates to our Salesforce integration and Graph API support
We've also included a preview of some exciting data platform updates that are coming in May like creating a custom report, scheduling reports to run and refined custom report fields (which may impact BI tool integrations).

Appointment scheduling updates
Enhanced appointment history
We’ve updated the appointment history section to provide more details about changes that have been made to a customer/member’s appointment, including cancellation reasons and status updates. We’re also planning to add the ability to see which attendees were added or removed, by whom and when in a future release.
Unassigned appointments
Staff can now view all unassigned appointments alongside unassigned walk-ins in their dashboard giving them a central view of all customers/members who are waiting to be served but don’t have an assigned staff member. Staff will also be able to assign to themselves or start an unassigned appointment from this dashboard view.
Selecting specific staff from a staff category
Last year we added the capability to create a booking shortcut that includes a staff category to limit the staff customers/members can schedule time with using that shortcut. We’ve enhanced this feature to allow customers to select a specific staff member from the category you’ve created.
New filter added to our B2B API
We have added a new way to look up appointments when using our B2B API. You can now retrieve all appointments belonging to a Coconut client with a specific external ID by using the client_external_id filter.
All of these appointment scheduling enhancements will be automatically enabled for all Coconut customers.
Lobby management updates
Lobby TV display
If there are more than 10 customers/members in your queue, your lobby TV display will now rotate through so they have a clear view of who’s ahead of them.
This enhancement will automatically be enabled for all Coconut customers.
A few new Lobby View settings
We’ve added the ability for admins to configure a few additional settings within their Lobby View—like showing in progress walk-ins, restricting location selection and displaying past walk-ins. These settings can be configured by heading over to Settings>Lobby Management>Lobby View in Coconut.
Home phone check-in
Customers/members can now check in using their cell phone or home phone number, if these options are enabled on the appointment details page.
This enhancement will automatically be enabled for all Coconut customers.
Platform updates
Salesforce integration updates
Customers who are leveraging our Salesforce add-on will now see all custom questions, meeting methods and meeting link information automatically sync from Coconut into Salesforce.
If you’re not currently using our Salesforce add-on, but would like to learn more about syncing your Coconut appointment and customer/member information with Salesforce please reach out to your CSM.
Graph API integration with Exchange
We’ve been working hard to add a new way to integrate with Exchange which leverages Microsoft’s Graph API. Among other things, this new capability promises to increase the performance of calendar syncing while also offering you new ways to secure Coconut’s access to your staffs’ calendars. If you’d like to learn more about this integration and join the Beta program to try it out, please reach out to your CSM.
Embed mode for Coconut IFrame integration
If you currently embed Coconut’s front end customer/member view inside your website or mobile apps via IFrame or WebViews, you can now hide the header using our new query parameter (?mode=embed).
Staff spoken languages import/export support
In 2021 we introduced a new capability that allows staff to configure the languages they can provide service in. We’ve now include this information in our import/export module so you can quickly configure the spoken languages for staff at one time.
Internet Explorer reminder
Microsoft will officially end-of-life support for Internet Explorer 11 on June 15th, 2022. This is a gentle reminder that Coconut has stopped making Internet Explorer specific updates since the fall of 2021. If you haven't done so already, we’d encourage you to upgrade your browser technology so you can make the most of Coconut’s ongoing platform upgrades.
Coming soon to our data platform
We’re working on some exciting updates to our data platform next month including:
New report templates: create your own custom report templates and save them in your reporting dashboard.
Scheduling reports: automatically schedule reports to run in advance, so they’re ready for you to download when you log in.
Refined custom report fields: we’ll be making some updates to the fields available in your custom reports. The goal of these updates is to consolidate data, clarify duplicate fields and provide a better experience for business analysts and data teams. Note: This will potentially impact the order and number of columns in any custom report that is generated. Further details and timing will be shared by your CSM in the coming weeks.
More details to come on these updates in our next release.
