Objective

Provide employees with the ability to facilitate video appointments using Coconut Connect.

NOTE: Coconut Connect is an add-on feature. Please connect with your Customer Success Manager to get started.

Before you begin

Firewall requirements

To ensure successful usage of Connect for video appointments, addresses for our service partner, Twilio®, and for Coconut need to be added to your organization’s firewall configuration. Please refer to this article for more details.

Connect is a browser-based application. We support the latest 2 versions of modern browsers for various operating systems, based on the following table:

NOTE: Custom backgrounds are only supported in Chromium-based desktop
browsers:

  • Google Chrome™

  • Microsoft® Edge

NOTE: Custom Backgrounds are not supported on the following versions, due to a bug in the browser that will cause an "Out of Memory" Error:

  • Chrome 122.0.6261.57 - 122.0.6261.110

  • Edge 122.0.2365.52 - 122.0.2365.79

NOTE: Our recommended lowest bitrate is 1.5 mbps for video streaming.

Steps

Enable Connect for the first time

Coconut Connect is an add-on feature. To enable it for your organization, reach out to your Customer Success manager so that it can be configured for your instance.

Once enabled, Connect will become the default video service provider for your organization. To confirm Connect has been successfully enabled:

  1. From the navigation menu, click Settings

  2. From Integrations & API, click Video Calls (Coconut Connect)

  3. Confirm your settings state Coconut Connect is on

Add virtual backgrounds for staff to use during calls

Increase brand awareness by including branded virtual background options employees can use during Connect meetings. To do this:

  1. From the navigation menu, click Settings

  2. From Integrations & API, click Coconut Connect

  3. Drag and drop your desired file onto the upload target or click or select from your computer

NOTE: Custom backgrounds are only supported in Chromium-based desktop
browsers:

  • Google Chrome™

  • Microsoft® Edge

A note on access and visibility

Admins can confirm Connect is enabled through Settings and add virtual background images.
