Objective
Provide Coconut in additional languages for your employees, the online booking experience in additional languages for customers or members, and include multiple language options for customers or members to choose to be serviced in. This article provides an overview of the language options available in Coconut.
NOTE: Additional Languages is an add-on feature. Please connect with your Customer Success contact to enable additional languages in your Coconut instance.
Additional languages
The following languages are available within Coconut:
English
French
Korean
Chinese (Simplified)
Polish
Portuguese
Russian
Spanish (Castilian)
NOTE: These languages are what are available to display to customers or members in customer-facing elements of Coconut; they are different from the languages customers or members can choose to be serviced in as part of the online booking process. Please refer to Additional languages and your customers/members for more details.
Additional languages and your employees
When additional languages are configured, employees can access Coconut in one of these additional languages, based on their profile settings.
Employees can set Coconut to display in an additional language by updating their preferred language in their profile
Additional languages and your customers/members
Additional languages can also be incorporated into Coconut to enhance your customers’ or members’ experience. These additional languages display as part of the online booking experience and as part of client notifications.
Additional languages and the online booking experience
Additional languages can be incorporated into customer or member-facing elements of Coconut through the app and then displayed as part of the online booking experience (or as part of a booking shortcut). This can be done for the following items:
Booking shortcuts
Custom questions
Location messaging
Service descriptions
Service instructions
Staff job titles
When additional languages are configured at your organization, customers/members can use a language picker to choose which of the additional languages they would like the online booking experience to display in.
When additional languages are configured, they display as options customers/members can choose to use when they go through the online booking process
If details for the above areas are included in additional languages and a customer/member selects a different language when using the online booking experience, the additional details display in the customer/member’s selected language.

Providing services in additional languages
If desired, you can provide your customers/members with the ability to choose to be served by a staff member who speaks a specific language as part of the online booking experience. The languages that are available for this are dependent on the languages spoken by your staff members, and are set on each individual staff member’s profile.
