Overview
Schedule 2.0 is here! This updated version brings a smoother, more responsive experience with the same great features you rely on for managing your appointments and staff availability.
Think of this release as a fresh coat of paint and some under-the-hood improvements to Coconut's existing schedule. Users will still be able to:
Create, edit, and view appointments
Manage staff absences
See everything in a familiar calendar view
Starting April 23, 2025, users will see an opt-In banner at the top of the schedule page. This will allow you to try out the new Schedule 2.0 while still having the option to switch back to the current version if needed.
Changes from Schedule 1.0
Here's what you can expect with the new Schedule 2.0:
Snappy Interactions - Clicking and dragging events now feels much quicker and more fluid.
No More Getting Stuck - Page elements will behave predictably, and you'll see clear status updates and error messages when needed.
Faster Navigation - Moving to and from the schedule page, and between different dates, will be much smoother as the whole page no longer reloads.
Real-Time Updates - Staff assignments on the schedule will automatically refresh every 15 minutes to ensure you're seeing the most up-to-date information. This also occurs anytime you refresh the page.
Day View
The day view now shows as horizontal rows rather than columns. This area shows more info on the staff including profile pictures, job titles, and supported appointment languages. Staff are sorted alphabetically once selected. Unassigned events are shown in the "No Staff Assigned" row when that option has been selected from the staff picker.
Users can resize the the user column:
Language Indicators
When a client has chosen to speak with someone in a specific language it will be surfaced on the appointment. This language indicator in combination with the user's language lets users make more informed decisions when reassigning appointments.
Sidebar
The new schedule features a collapsible side panel that permits users to hide the staff picker if desired, the location picker is visible whether the side panel is open or collapsed.
Un-assigning Appointments
Un-assigning an appointment is as simple as dragging the appointment over to the No Staff Assigned row.
Walk-Ins
Walk-ins are now displayed regardless of the view the user currently selected. The old schedule only showed walk-ins in day view.
Updating Absences
Users will be asked to confirm the action if they try to update an internal absence.
Recurring Events
Users will be able to specify the behaviour they want when updating recurring events. Previously staff would encounter a message telling them that the updated absence would no longer be part of the series.
Selecting Staff
The new schedule lets users select multiple staff in week view, rather than just the “All” option. The “All” option has been replaced with a Select All and Clear All button, these buttons simply check and uncheck the checkboxes below rather than acting as a separate option. The new schedule persists the users selected on Day and Week view instead of having two separate selections saved.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can staff toggle back to the previous schedule 1.0 view?
Yes, the opt-in/opt-out banner will remain available for initial launch so users can toggle between the old and new experience for a limited time. Once all customers are comfortable with the new schedule experience, we will remove the banner and Schedule 2.0 will be the default experience.
Why am I missing/can't see events on Schedule 2.0 that I can see on Schedule 1.0?
Confirm your filter settings are the same. Filter selections are saved separately for each schedule. A badge is shown on the filters button when the user’s selection has strayed from the default.
