Objective
Create a staff group so that you can assign staff members to multiple services in one action.
Before you begin
By default, services are assigned to staff members individually. To create a staff group, this setting must be updated. To enable creating staff groups:
From the navigation menu, click Settings
Click Admin View
From General>How are services assigned to staff?, select Mixed
To enable creating staff groups, update the "How are services assigned to staff?" setting to Mixed
The setting updates automatically, and Staff Groups displays in the navigation menu.
Steps
To create a staff group:
From the navigation menu, click Staff Groups
Click +New
Enter a name for the staff group
Enter an externalID for the staff group
NOTE: The externalID is what the system will use to assign staff members to the group when using Import/Export functionality
If desired, enter an optional description for the staff group
Select the services that will be assigned when this staff group is used
NOTE: A staff member who belongs to a staff group cannot be assigned individual services - they are automatically assigned the services that are associated with their staff group
To update their service assignments, either modify the services assigned to the group or set their staff group to none

Use case from our customers: distinct service teams
Does your business have multiple staff that provide the same service(s)? If so, staff groups can be configured to have multiple services assigned to them. Any staff assigned to a Staff Group will automatically be assigned those services as well. This can be an efficient way of grouping staff into teams that provide distinct services, and can ensure that all services are correctly assigned when moving staff between teams or adding new staff to an existing team.
A note on access and visibility
Admin users can update the setting to enable staff groups. They can also create and edit staff groups.
