Is any one else really, really hot? It's really, really hot, I don't think the air conditioning is keeping up this summer. This husky puppy has the right idea. However, the fridge at the Coconut Software headquarters is not nearly big enough to fit a full grown human employee.

The Coconut Engineering, Product & Design teams have been mainlining popsicles and iced cappuccinos to make sure that this month's new features and improvements are top notch.

This month is all about making it easier to see, load and export data in and out of Coconut, as well as enhanced support for languages and the beginnings of empowering you with new self-serve options for emails, notifications and branding (keep an eye out over the next few months for more enhancements and customizable communications).

We're also getting ready for what seems to be a hugely busy fall events season - we hope to see you at various CUNA, ICBA, Filene, American Banker and other in-person and virtual events. Any conferences that you're going to that you think we should join? Let us know at marketing@coconutsoftware.com.

If you haven’t yet, join our Coconut Customer Slack channel. Connect with your peers, share tips and best practices, get real time updates on improvements happening between releases and provide product feedback and ideas.

Off to the freezer for another fudgesicle.

New Features and Capabilities - launching July 22nd

Configured whether new users should be created on first login via SSO

  • Currently, our system allows individuals who attempt to log into Coconut via SSO to create a new user account for that person automatically. As of this month, admins will have the option to keep it on (new user accounts created automatically) or switch it off (don't create a new user account automatically)based on your organization's security policies.

Set reminder emails to staff to complete appointments

  • This new feature will allow for automated reminder emails to staff who have neglected to complete appointments once the original completion time has lapsed. Whoops!

    • This is particularly helpful for your staff that don’t use Coconut consistently and who may forget to complete their appointments.

    • This means that the data you pull from Coconut will be more accurate as to completions, average handle time etc.

  • The email will have a button which will send your staff member directly to the appointment that needs to be closed. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Importing a CSV file of customers into Coconut

  • Several customers have requested that we include the ability to bulk import to better match up with customers in internal systems and reduce the time it takes other staff to create appointments as customer data already exists. Your wish is our command!

  • With this release, admins will now be able to:

    • Import a CSV of customers

    • Export existing client lists out of Coconut

    • Support clients matching based on external IDs which will allow admins to export existing client lists, add external IDs and then re-import back into Coconut to add/update external IDs in bulk. Huzzah!

The bulking continues with a few more ways to reduce the amount of manual steps to create many booking shortcuts QR codes at once:

  • Added bulk action button for downloading QR codes or certain rows in a CSV (for example, if you wanted to create many QR codes for a specific service at several locations)

  • Bulk deleting of selected rows from within Coconut

  • Downloading a CSV with only selected rows

Maximum lead times for booking appointments, by service

  • Admins can now set how far in advance customers can book appointments, based on service.

  • This means that different services that need more prep time can enforce how far in advance the appointment can be booked. For example, a wealth advisor may want up to eight weeks to book a portfolio review, but a retail banking team doesn’t want to set appointments to open accounts more than two weeks in advance.

Set maximum amount of time that individuals waiting for an appointment to start, before an escalation notification is sent to the branch manager

  • This new feature allows admins to set a maximum number of minutes after an appointment was supposed to begin that, if passed, will trigger an email or SMS notification to the location contact info.

  • This is normally a branch manager who could then follow up to ensure a good customer or member experience.

We are expanding the number of languages your Staff can support clients in (including American Sign Language, Cree, Navajo and Inuktitut):

  • Up from the current three languages

  • Please note that our Client View, emails and SMS will remain only available in French, English and Spanish.

Improvements - launching July 22nd

  • Cancellation reasons (launched in June) are now translatable into French or Spanish for the Client View, in addition to the previous launch of English.

  • You now have support for French characters in custom booking shortcut URLs (launched in June) - très bien!

  • Staff can now download all their created booking shortcuts - this improvement allows staff to download a CSV file which can then be shared with others. This would be helpful for an advisor to download all shortcuts and provide to an EA or admin in case a particular service needs to be booked.

  • Email branding enhancements - over the next few months, we’re providing more self-service email branding configurability for admins. Instead of having to contact Coconut to do these items, admins will now be empowered to make changes themselves. For non-standard requests, you will still need to contact us to help. Here is a list of items you can now do yourself:

  • When you have private label functionality enabled and a vanity URL, it now means no more Coconut terms & conditions nor privacy notices. We have received feedback that having text refer to Coconut Software can be confusing for customers in the Client View. With this release, if your specific compliance information or terms and conditions / links are added, we will remove all mention of Coconut. Example in the red box below.

  • Microsoft has decided to end support for Internet Explorer 11 as of August 17, 2021 in Microsoft 365 applications. Coconut Software will follow the same timelines and we have decided to no longer be addressing bugs for this browser version as of that same date. We would encourage you and your team to investigate migrating to a newer browser if you haven’t already started.
It is anticipated that you might experience a degradation of performance if IE 11 is used after August 17, 2021. For further information from Microsoft, please click here.
