Objective

Leverage SFTP Data Send to upload data from Coconut into your organization’s BI tooling.

NOTE: SFTP Data Send is an optional add-on. Please connect with your Customer Success Manager to get started.

Steps

Configuring SFTP data send requires entering your connection details in Coconut’s settings and creating the report template(s) you want to send to your SFTP server.

Enter your connection details

To enter your SFTP connection details in Coconut:

  1. From the navigation menu, click Settings

  2. From Integrations & API, click Data

  3. If desired, enter the destination name and folder file path for your SFTP server

  4. Enter the host URL or address of the destination server in the Remote Host field

  5. Enter the username for the user/services account used to access the remote host in the Username field

  6. Select whether you will use a password or public/private key

    1. If using password, enter the password for the server and click Save

    2. If using public/private key:

      1. Click Save

      2. Copy the public key that displays

      3. Add the public key to your server configuration

  7. Click Test Connection to confirm the SFTP connection is accurately configured

Create a report template

Once the SFTP connection is configured, you can create a report template to be sent to your server and/or update an existing report template to be sent to your server.

To create a new report template to be sent to your server:

  1. From the navigation menu, click Reports

  2. Click +New

  3. Click Report Template

  4. Enter a name for the template

  5. Click Send to destination - this will trigger the report to be sent to your SFTP server

  6. Click Generate on a schedule and make your desired selections based on how frequently you want the report to be sent to your server

  7. Make your report field selections

  8. Click Save

To update an existing report template to be sent to your server:

  1. From the navigation menu, click Reports

  2. Navigate to the report you want to update

  3. Click the more actions () icon

  4. Click Edit

  5. Click Send to destination - this will trigger the report to be sent to your SFTP server

  6. Click Generate on a schedule and make your desired selections based on how frequently you want the report to be sent to your server

  7. Click Save

Click Send to destination and set your desired schedule to send reports to your SFTP server at regular intervals

A note on access and visibility

Admin users can configure SFTP for their organization.

Admins and managers can create new report templates and/or update existing templates to be sent to the SFTP server at your organization.
