Audit Logs V1: Overview

Current limitations:

  • Only changes made by Admin users are shown in the Audit Log

  • Audit Logs are not available in demo instances

Objective

Access a detailed record of changes within your Coconut instance, enabling your organization to analyze the root cause of issues, verify the source of changes to information, and ensure the fulfillment of compliance and accountability requirements. Each log captures who made the change, when it occurred, and what was modified.

How can I enable Audit Logs?

To enable Audit Logs, please reach out to your Customer Success Team.

NOTE: Advanced Analytics is required to use Audit Logs.

What can my organization Audit?

This glossary of audit resources lists the information that can be retrieved using Audit Logs:

Generate an Audit Log report

  1. From the navigation menu, click Reports

  2. Click Generate a new report/Template

  3. Select Audits from the Report Type dropdown.

  4. Choose a date range

  5. Click Generate

NOTE: Up to 90 days of data logs can be generated in one report, with the ability to access data going back to January 1, 2025.

Check the Reports table for:

  • Report requester

  • Report type

  • Generation timestamp

  • Status (Completed/Failed)

  • Download option

Hot Tip! You can schedule a daily Audit Log report using the following steps:

  1. From the navigation menu, click Reports

  2. Click New and select Report Template

  3. Set the Report Type to Audits

  4. Select Generate Report on a Schedule

  5. Title your report

  6. Click Save

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How far back can I access audit data?

Due to system performance considerations, Audit Logs data can only be accessed as far back as January 1, 2025.

What’s the maximum time range for a single report?

Reports can be generated for up to 90 days of data only.

How long does it take to generate a report?

Reports generate immediately. The run time will depend on the amount of data being requested.

What happens if my report fails?

If a report fails, you'll see a "Failed" status in the Reports table. Try regenerating the report again or contact your Customer Success Team if the issue persists.

Can I get real-time audit data?

Not real-time, but same day. Audit data is delayed 6 hours, so you can request a report for changes that happed 6 hours ago or more.

What format are the reports in?

Reports are delivered in CSV format, making them easy to analyze in spreadsheet applications.

Is there a limit to how many reports I can generate?

There's no limit to the number of reports you can generate.

How can I share this report with others in my organization?

Due to security reasons, Coconut does not recommend you share these reports without checking your organization's policies on who should see this information.
