September - the air is getting crisper, the leaves are starting to change, and the apples are in season.

It’s also the perfect month to launch a bunch of helpful features, beautiful improvements and minor bug fixes! We’re excited with the amount and quality of feedback we’ve received from our Beta participants.
We’re also thrilled to announce a customer-only webinar to introduce Coconut’s Product Roadmap for Q4 2020 & 2021. We’ll talk through all the exciting evolutions we’re planning and will have a live Q&A session - register here, it's going to be a blast!

At the end of August, we hosted a webinar “How the Appointment Economy is Changing the Banking Experience” and had a great conversation with Jerimy Saldivar from WECU about how they’ve handled COVID-19 and the changes to operations made so far. Have a listen to the recording here.

We have another webinar coming up on September 29th with Darryl King from Coastal Community Credit Union who will be answering questions about the appointment economy and the future of banking. Join us!

We hope you’re as happy about these improvements as we are, enjoy!

P.P.S. If you haven’t already, and you’re a “let’s give this new tech a whirl” kinda person, we officially launched Coconut’s Beta Program. Goodies, VIP access, and exciting new features await you, all we ask in return is your feedback. Click here to learn more and to sign up.

New Features and Capabilities - launching Sept. 30th

The Schedule Day View now saves preselected Staff - want to try it out? Sign up for our Beta program!

  • We’ve made it easier to see the scheduling information you care about, faster. The Day view on the Schedule will now save selected Staff, then reload those same individuals the next time you visit the Schedule page. Each location has its own list, so you can set up preferred staff by each location.

Fresh insights, ready for your review - “Engagements by location and staff” and “Engagements by location and service” are now available within Reports

  • These reports allow you to quickly review the types of engagements (walk-ins versus prebooked appointments) sliced and diced by location and service. You’ll find this useful for reviewing workforce productivity (how many engagements are being completed), seeing which services are proving to be most popular, and verifying that you have the right ‘mix’ of walk-ins and prebooked appointments to manage branch traffic.

  • Please note, this feature is only available to customers with Coconut Lobby Management

Modern Client View Location step- open to Beta program participants. Have you joined yet? We are bringing a veritable autumnal cornucopia of improvements to our location step on the Modern Client View. These improvements address both performance and user experience. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Only one click/tap is required to select a location - previously location details were shown and then selection could be made.

  • The map view is now available on mobile and list view

  • Areas that have many locations on the map will now be grouped into clusters for better visibility and usability.

  • We now detect the client’s location (when given permission) in order to show them the nearest locations.

  • When we don’t have access to a client’s location, we display a list of provinces/states to allow the client to select their relevant location.

  • Searching on the map view is greatly improved - after panning the map to a new area, clients can click to search the current area for an updated list of locations.

Microsoft Teams Integration - now available to all customers!

  • We’ve listened to the feedback from our Beta program (thanks ya’ll!), have made a few minor adjustments, and are now ready to open the Microsoft Teams integration to our customers. Starting September 30th, all customers who use the Phone and Video Appointments add on will have access to the Teams integration through the admin settings. Have a read through our August release notes to learn more.

  • The video meeting links that go out in email notifications for the Microsoft Teams Integration are unique to each meeting which causes them to be very long. This has been changed to be clickable text that says “Join Call” rather than displaying the entirety of the link. We’re sure your eyeballs thank us.

Quickly launch your Video appointments right from the Staff dashboard

  • The main action on the Staff dashboard will now be “Start and Open” which will launch the video link for that appointment in another browser tab. It’s now that much faster to get an appointment started!

The Redesigned Schedule - officially rolling to all customers on November 1st

  • We’ve been working hard on incorporating feedback on the Redesigned Schedule. The time has come for the old schedule design to retire and join the ranks of Atari, Michael Jordan and Fruitopia in the glass bottle. October 31 will be the last day that the old schedule will be available for use. We have included this reminder within Coconut on the bar above the old schedule design, where Staff users can click to “Try the new version.” If your staff haven’t done so already, we’d encourage them to switch and get used to the new design.

  • Based on customer feedback, when hovering over an appointment, we've we’ve added the staff name and job title to the information already there. No need for extra clicks to get this quick info.

  • We’ve made the shading darker for the closed times on the redesigned schedule.

  • The left side of the redesigned schedule is now going to take the full height of the page to show more items in the list, making it more apparent that it might be scrollable (depending on the number of locations/staff in the list).

  • We have now changed the event status colours for walk-ins to be consistent with appointments.

In Modern Client View, custom messaging can be shown if there is no availability. Your clients will see this messaging on the Time selection step if there is no availability for their selection.

  • Admins can add a custom message heading and additional content to display instead of Coconut’s default messaging. You can use this as an opportunity to use branded messaging and can include specific calls-to-action: links, phone numbers or email addresses. Admins can also choose to display a phone number for each individual location to Clients. All this can be configured in the Client View settings.

Product Improvements - launching Sept. 30th

  • For new users created by the Active Directory integration, Admins can configure the default values for Role and Visibility properties. This will be helpful for those who want to default all staff members to a particular role (say Staff Advanced) or have everyone appear public or private by default.

  • For new and existing users, Admins have the option to automatically fill in Coconut’s External ID field with each user’s Microsoft ID. This is just one more piece of data your admins won't have to manually fill out.

Location Booking Shortcuts now include all possible meeting methods

  • Previously, when a booking shortcut that included a location was used, the meeting could only be booked at the business location, even if more meeting methods were offered. We’ve changed it so it’ll display all available meeting methods. Nice!

For your customers who have previously previously booked an appointment with you and have opted out of receiving SMS texts, we added a request to opt back into SMS notifications in Modern Client View

  • This will help make sure they don’t miss important notifications from you for their upcoming meetings.

  • Our SMS Notification provider maintains a list of phone numbers that have replied “STOP” to our notifications. Coconut is unable to send SMS messages to those clients who have previously replied “STOP”. To ensure that your clients get the notifications they need, we have added a warning message when booking to prompt clients to opt back in to SMS notifications.
    Here's what it'll look like:

We’ve improved loading speed for pages on Modern Client View.

  • Unless you have a truly massive number of staff users, you probably won’t notice much of a difference.

The Lobby TV now supports a vertical orientation, as well as the previously released horizontal orientation.

  • Coconut + Yoga = Lobby TV.

Setting a password is now optional in the Users API - this’ll help prevent folks from using a default password when it was previously mandatory. If you’re using SSO previously, a password wasn’t needed. So, we’ve made it consistently optional. Here is more information on how to create a user as part of our APIs.

Bug Fixes:

  • Some appointments booked on the Schedule were not including the buffer time. We’ve fixed this - everyone needs a break between meetings. We understand.

  • The Booked By Client flag was sometimes now showing the full set of data

  • The Schedule Event modal now has a dynamic height, ensuring all content is visible when the height of the modal changes. For example, when changing an appointment to a video appointment.

  • The Lobby wait time algorithm sometimes showed the wrong value when busy blocks were added in a particular order. Fixed up now!

  • Fixed an issue where the Microsoft Teams Integration showed a message stating it had been refreshed immediately after initial connection.

  • Fixed an issue where some padding between elements in the Microsoft Teams Admin Dashboard was missing. Padded now and much more comfy.

  • Fixed an issue where an error message related to the Microsoft Teams Integration would appear on the Schedule when there was in fact no error occurring.

  • We had an issue where some of our customers were unable to see the client view setting for “How are services displayed?” - this is now fixed and should be available for all customers again.

  • We had an issue that may occur, in very specific circumstances, where an hours adjustment would continuously show the saving state. This is now fixed and all adjustments can now be saved.

  • In the Multiple Attendees section of the Client View Admin Settings there is a text box titled “Additional details” which is only available for the Classic Client View. This box was showing up as enabled for the Modern Client View although it could not be edited. We’ve given it a stern talking to, and is now properly fully disabled when the Modern Client View is being used.

  • Fixed an issue where a blank page would be displayed in the Contact Center if required questions were answered and then the appointment was saved extremely quickly. No more blank pages for those who are really fast at saving.

  • Fixed an issue where a booking shortcut with a service would allow the client to navigate back to the service step on the Modern Client View when they shouldn’t be able to.

  • Fixed an issue with the redesigned schedule where some white text was being shown on top of a white background making it unreadable. This state could only be accessed if a staff did not have any location/service assignments.

  • Staff sorting is now only available to Admins accounts, and is now in it’s own devoted tab in the staff list. The staff sort order is used on the Schedule staff list.

  • Fixed an issue when adding a new client in the Contact Center where the State/Province field would show a state of infinite loading. No one has time for that.
